Double Oh, No!

Thank goodness Daddy is in town because I went from feeling okay to miserable in 60 seconds.  When did this happen?  Around 1am this morning.  I don't think I shared with you all of my adventures last week, but I went to the doctor on Wednesday for potential pink eye and that was a bust, but then headed back to the doctor's on Friday because school said I had a fever but the doctor said I didn't and that my ears were beautiful as my ears come.

Mommy took me to the doctors for an 8:20am appointment and the doctor reacted with a 'yuck' as soon as she looked in my ears.  Double ear infection!  Technically speaking I was banned from school, but we didn't want to miss the parade so we drove right over and I latched onto Daddy's shoulder with all my might and we headed to the parade to cheer Samantha on.

Coat?  Not me.  Hat?  Mommy's call.

Mommy found Minnie, I mean Samatha with all of her friends.
Her costume is hiding under her coat, but you saw it yesterday and it's super cute on her!

Love my happy big sister!

Super silly big sister!
She wasn't scared or anything.  She didn't need Mommy to hold her hand at all!

Here I am with Miss Kim.

She was super nice to let me join in the parade.

Alex, Villads and Samantha. She won't admit it but she is totally in love.
Two boyfriends are tricky, but how can you resist Villads cute face?  Samantha certainly can't!
Samantha got the concept of trick or treating this year while I watched from my stroller. I was a bit grumpy because of my ears but I took notes for next year.
Treat!

Yeah, Mommy made us pose.  Both of us thought it was ridiculous.
I love kit-kats!  My very first candy and I'm addicted.  All in all halloween is a success except the whole pain in the ears thing.  I heard a rumor that next year I get to dress up and pick my own candy.  Now that's sweet!

Costume Party

So, Daddy has to fly to Louisville, or someplace like that.  That means it's up to us girls to represent the Burts at my first ever costume party.

Minnie Mouse kindly agreed to escort me.

But she wasn't all thrilled to have her Minnier Mouse tagging along on her big girl parties.
Whatever, as long as I can gnaw on a rice krispie treat, all is right with the world and I don't need to spend every minute with Minnie.
Yummy!
Ava was really excited to try this treat out herself.
Until we got distracted by the concept of holding hands.
We hang out a lot in Miss Maria's room.  We're fast friends!
Even more so when I have something she wants!
Here is a video of us playing.  Enjoy!

We girls found Alex's awesome treasure trove of toys and hunkered down for some fun. What a great party!

We had so much fun trying all the treats that Alex's Mommy made.  We had such a great time and Samantha was super excited to find a cookie with her name on it.  She had to show the entire neighborhood on our way out.

 See?
As we loaded up into the car, we received a text message from Daddy that his flight was canceled so he was headed home to see us.  He's going to be home for Halloween!

Mommy came downstairs after a night out on the town and sleeping in until the ungodly late hour of 8am and almost cried with pure joy at watching Samantha entertain me with a puzzle.  Samantha took each puzzle piece out of its spot and said, "Boop, there it is."  And when I picked a piece up myself?  She replied, "Thank you."  I love having a big sister.

What I do not love is being under the weather.  This stinks to have a plain Jane cold.  Ears are fine as per the doctor visit yesterday afternoon and second doctor's visit in 48 hours, but my second tooth is bullying my gums big time.  Mommy can see the tooth that broke the skin a few weeks ago as well as the one that will bust out any day.

I bet you're not going to believe this, but it's snowing!  In October!  And soccer was canceled- again!

Miss Ewa came over to help fold baby clothes. And, baby, there sure is a ton of them.  Miss Ewa was here five hours and only got about a 1/3 of the way through them.  I slept while Mommy watched Bridesmaids and Samantha and Daddy got their naps, too.

Daddy and I stayed home while Mommy took Samantha to ballet.

Here is a video of the number.  Samantha is the second blond closest to the camera.

And a second video for your viewing pleasure.  This one is my favorite.

And, for those of you who know my Mommy. She, of course, wanted to take me outside for my first snow but decided against it because I was still a bit cranky. Not full on sick, but a crankmeister nonetheless.

The Fresh Princess Of Mayberry

Mirror,  mirror on the wall, who is the fairy of them all?

Trick or treat smell my feet, give me something good to eat. If you don't, I don't care.  I will pull down your underwear.

Yep, I'm coming up with these nuggets all by myself and Mommy is stifling smiles behind her hand.    She likes the cadence of my jigs and, frankly, so do I!

Here I am in all my princess glory.  Note the bib and inappropriate socks.

We continued our trend of taking Chrissy to the doctors for every infraction . This time was a gunky, pink eye.  Turns out the 16 pound, nine ounce girl just has a gunky eye.  No sign of pink eye.
Personally?  I'm lovin' the doctors visits.  I get stickers since Chrissy is too young and all.  She'd just eat the stickers!

Back home I entertained myself with some 'that's silly' in my Highlights magazine.  Can you believe a magazine just for me?  I love it!

Hmmm, I think I just found a green thumb.  Literally!

Horrified By Dinner Options

I keep telling Mommy that sweet potatos aren't my favorite.  Does she listen?  No!

Our Alcohol Free Cheers Watering Hole

Mommy picked us up from school and we headed to the post office to mail some packages. The line was about 15 people deep, and did they beg for entertainment. No worries, I'm here for you!

I ran back and forth in the hallway, screaming my numbers the entire time. And I made it such fun that all the grownups forgot to be grumpy about the line. And one lady followed us to our next stop. The library! And we also ran into Emily and Robert. That's is what's so great about being in Mayberry. You run into friends everywhere you go.

I went right to the computer and Mommy returned books and found a bunch of new books for me and her. We have such different taste. Can you believe her books don't have any pictures? Boring!

When we got home I fed Chrissy puffs and watched her eat a whole serving of sweet potato/apple. It must be her favorite because that is the first time she ate the entire package in one sitting at home. And then she ate carrots/apple/mango. She liked that, too. Different strokes for different folks!

Mommy put fussy bussy to bed and we heard her wail for 45 minutes while we read Purplicious, Barenstein Bears and The Very Clumsy Click Beetle. I was almost all green today except I forgot to ask to go poop on the potty at school. Too much pressure!

Then it was off to bed. Mommy checked on Chrissy a bit later and found her fast asleep (finally) and then she checked on me. She asked why I wasn't sleeping. My response? "It's hard to fall asleep."

Dating Milestone

Daddy was MIA this weekend, so it was up to us girls to make memories.  And that we did!

Chrissy started the morning with her famous mischievous grin masking her true intentions.

Swiping my toy!

And eating my toy!

Seriously, there is nothing that non-crawling sister of mine can't get into.
After some quick fun it was time to head to Terhune for my first ever date.  Pumpkin picking with Alex. Daddy was a bit unhappy with this milestone but Mommy thought it was super cute.

Alex leading the way to the good pumpkins.

Chrissy hanging back.
Courting.  At three it's a bit simplistic.  No, I won't hold your hand.
Or smile at the same time.  Like my bib?  I refused to take it off after breakfast.

Chrissy was a bit anxious to get out of her stroller and join in the fun.
Look, a new toy!  Slide, here I come!

An economical way to feed the goats.  Pick up the corn from the ground.

It's okay, Alex.  I'll share with you.

Is that how you do it?

I think I've got it.

Alex, where did you go?

Oops, where did I go?
Here, bunny, bunny.
You pet the bunny just like this, Alex.

Of course I like apples.

Just not a lot.
After some great cider donuts, great fun, laughter and playing on the tractors and with the goats it was time to part ways.  I had a great first date and can't wait to see Alex at school on Monday.

We had to bust out quickly because I had soccer.  That's me running after the ball.  Finally!
While Chrissy enjoyed the action and Mallory the Monkey.
We left a few minutes early to head over to JEM Stables for Andrew's 4th birthday party, where I slipped on my cowgirl hat.
And took a gander at the pinata.
No need to blindfold me...

Unlimited pony rides?  This is the life.
Andrew, you can have a birthday every weekend, okay?  This is a blast!

I sure hope Mommy is getting all my messages loud and clear.  Samantha wants a pony!
