When Dads are away, babies will play- and play we did!
On Wednesday we went to our Mommy and Me group. I must brag a bit because I did turn out to be the unintentional star of the show. The leader of the group was discussing this week's topic while all of us babies were feeding, putzing around and generaly being babies. Mommy flipped me over for some tummy time- when will it ever stop? Then she let me play on my back. About ten minutes later the instructor stopped the conversation and looked at Mommy in amazement and said, "Did your child just put herself to sleep?". Mommy was a bit confused and replied, "that's what she does when she's tired." The other mommies were all jealous because their babies don't know how to go to sleep on their own. Apparently their doctors haven't given them the 'tough love' talking to!
Lest Mommy's head get so big that she can't carry me and fit through the door I deflated her ego a bit the next day. She was carrying me while waiting for a repairman to arrive when the phone rang. I waited until she answered and then had a big ole' crap that shot right out of my diaper, all over the blanket, all down her shirt and pants and then puddled on the carpet. That'll teach her!
Here's some really big news--- on Wednesday night, for the first time, Henry slept the night in his crib. He's been doing so ever since and is so much better rested he can't believe he protested so much before giving in.
When Daddy came home on Friday he was the newest applicant to be accepted as my Neighborhood Watch escort. I am proud to say that our neighborhood has been safe since I took over. Here's Mommy and me on my second shift of the evening.
