Woo-Hoo

Mommy finally let me sleep through the night and I made it eight straight hours! I've been trying for days now, but she always wakes me up for a feeding. Last night she was so tired that she didn't wake up until 5am. After pumping she woke me up at 5:30 for a feeding and then let me crawl into bed with Daddy for some snuggle time. Boy, do I like Daddy and me time! Though, truth be told, Mufasa stormed away in a hissy fit when she came to see Daddy and found me in her usual place on Daddy's chest. Oops!

Here I am back to sleep after snuggle time. Really, why be awake after Daddy goes to work? Better to rest up for play time when he comes back home tonight!

Play Date

I am so smart. Mom and Dad said I'm too young to be holding hands with suitors, so Henry and I are skirting the law by linking arms. As you can see, we are having a great play date. "Happy as a clam" is a very fitting onesies for this social visit. Though I can't say the same for the rest of the day because I was over tired and fussed way more than usual and made Mommy hold me most of the day.

Here is our morning play date picture.

Henry is exactly four weeks older than I am, but look at how much bigger he is. He went to the pediatrician today and he is 15 pounds 14 ounces and I am just tipping the scale at double digits.

In the afternoon I was such a fuss bucket that Mommy brought me back to see Henry for some more play time. Guess he wasn't as interested in hanging out. What do you think?

Daddy surprised us my coming home early tonight- 7pm! We taught him all our fun songs and games. The current song is "Where is thumbkin", only Mommy makes us her own lyrics using 'the bad finger' and the 'big rock finger' instead of middle finger and ring finger. Hopefully, Daddy will straighten her out so I don't end up a freak on the playground singing all sorts of songs incorrectly.

Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner

Sunday afternoon consisted of our normal routine: Daddy and I spent some quality time researching my favorite sport- golf. Here I am studying the moves very carefully.

We had our first family dinner and a movie night and the movie selection was a super informational one titled "21". I guess Mommy and Daddy are trying hard to impress upon me on the importance of learning how to count. I had some trouble concentrating, so I took a quick nap. Yes, I was sleeping peacefully on my activity center and Mommy moved me because she missed me so very much.

Here is a funny picture that pretty much says it all about my parents.

Smiling and Cooing

I am learning to smile and coo a little bit and love to try out my new vocal skills. Before it was just grunting, groaning and crying. This is a whole new, fun world of noises!

I woke up a bit early for my feeding and think I better sneak in a little playtime before heading back to sleep. Think I'm having fun?

It's a Start

I am now smiling in response to 'games' my Mommy plays with me. Most of my games revolve around Ollie the Octopus kissing me- boy, is that fun!

The Next Soccer Star

Here I am taking down my beloved Freddy the Fish.....

Welcome Back, Daddy!

Boy, did I miss you this week. Mommy was great and all, but it isn't the same when you're not here. Playtime isn't as much fun and mommy doesn't know how to give me a bath on her own so I got pretty smelly towards the end of the week.

Thanks for my bath time! Here are some pictures of Daddy and me time.

Here I am helping Daddy wash my back by sitting up nice and tall. Check out my hair- it hasn't fallen out (yet?).

Boy, do I smell much better! (Mommy is way too short to take a picture of me from a good angle, so I look like more of a porker than I really am.)

Here I am relaxing before out big day out tomorrow to be the star of Daddy Boot Camp. Stories to come later this weekend.

Six Weeks and Counting

I'm getting bigger and bigger! Today marks week six and I celebrated by visiting with Aunt Kathleen for lunch and some shopping at the Carter's outlet store. Aunt Kathleen helped with my bottle and diaper change so Mommy could eat in peace. What a treat for all of us! I am doing my best to help Aunt Kathleen get ready for her first foster care infant and can't wait to have play dates with her little angels.

Here I am during lunch.

Mommy is such a sucker! I convinced her that I would look so cute in lots of different outfits and I couldn't pick just one, so we loaded up and can't wait to show Daddy our loot.

I sure missed Daddy this week. He left Monday morning and is coming home tonight after my bedtime. I am sure looking forward to spending quality time with him all weekend. We're going to be the experts at a local Daddy boot camp on Saturday and I'm sure we'll come home with stories to share.

My big news is that I am smiling. I started a little bit yesterday, but today I definitely smiled when Mommy played games with my on my activity center. I'm not yet ready to share this moment with the camera, but soon Mommy will win out and share pictures.

Smiling In My Sleep

Only watch the first ten seconds or so, but I'm a cutie....

Birth Announcement

Mommy finally sent out my birth announcement. Here I am, world!

PS- Daddy just left us to spend the week in Boca Raton, Florida. Think Mommy will get any sleep? Not if I can help it!

The Great American Scooter

I've learned a new trick with my daddy's help. Last night he thought tummy time was a little boring watching me squirm and getting frustrated that I couldn't move around more. So he put his hands firmly against my feet and watched in amazement as I pushed off them and scooted forward. Many scoots later I made it to the other side of my parent's bed.

Mommy and I did some more scooting this morning and during our playdate with Handsome Henry. The only downside of this trick is the huge amount of energy it takes to move so much and then I am super hungry and wail up a storm when not promptly fed.

No pictures, but mommy will try to capture this trick on video and post to YouTube one of these days.

One Week Check up (at 4 weeks and 6 days)

I am growing like a weed! I was 7 pounds 7 ounces at 1.5 weeks and now I am a whopping 9 pounds 8.5 ounces. I also grew from 21 inches to 22 inches and my head circumference is 14.5 inches.

I also got a darned shot today and was not too pleased with the super long needle.

My mommy took this picture to capture my facial expression when she tries to get me to do something I have absolutely no desire to do. Who needs words with a face like this?

Big Girl Crib

So, my Daddy says I make way too much noise at night in the bassinet and needed to move into my own room. Who needs Mommy and Daddy anyway? Turns out I LOVE my new sleeping arrangements and am sleeping between 9 and 6:30 every night with at least one five hour stretch. My mommy sure does love my big girl sleep habits!

Here I am sleeping my first night in the crib.

Daddy had his first overnight business trip Monday and I was so good for Mommy! My only meltdown lasted 20 minutes. I think my great mood was in part because I got to play with my favorite friend, Baby Henry. Here he is enjoying some quality time on the bouncer. He's so handsome!

Here is my new favorite place to play and nap during the day. I love my Baby Einstein activity center!

One Month Old

Today I turned one month old and wanted to share some pictures of how big I've gotten.

Yesterday Amy visited and won bonus points for bringing Mommy and Daddy big cups of coffee and a tasty breakfast. Here Amy is taking over feeding duty. As you can see, I became camera-shy.

What could be more exciting than a ceiling fan?

I know- Daddy putting my big girl crib together. Thanks, Daddy!

Here I am waving at you!

Four Weeks Today

Look how big and strong I am! Though I haven't mastered smiling and sitting up yet. Maybe next month...

For those of you who don't know, my next door neighbor was born 4 weeks before me and we've become fast friends. Here Baby Henry and I are on our play date this afternoon. Isn't he handsome?!

We've Got a Pee'er in the House

Don't I look happy now that I've managed to pee all over my changing table and clothes so Mommy had to strip me down in search of dry land?

Much Too Early

I've discovered the box known as television. Daddy is less than thrilled because Mommy watches crap and he thinks she is brainwashing his child.

More Daddy and Samantha bonding time.

Fuss Bucket

Who needs a bassinet when you have Mommy's chest to sleep on? I've has taken to sleeping on people instead of where she should be sleeping. Does one need to break this habit? How does one break this habit?

Visiting

On Friday I dressed up in my super cute navy blue Ralph Lauren sun dress and bloomers and headed off to our weekly support group. I love to meet other new babies and stare at them, especially when they are crying. Secretly I'm trying to figure out who is stealing my top-secret attention-getting tactics.

Then we headed off to visit with a friend who recently had knee surgery. A little baby can sure brighten up the day! And I fit the bill quite nicely if I do say so myself.

Then it was off to visit with Toni at Janssen so Daddycould stop by the bank and I could meet my new friend.

By this time I had gone most of the day without food and lacked any desire to nurse. So, instead of heading home like smart parents Mommy and Daddy went to Jeff's office to show off a very grumpy Samantha. And, boy did they come to regret their decision.... I met Daddy's former boss, who was dressed in a cute top and white pants. She kindly took me and helped me with my gas issues. Guess where this is going? Yep, I reached deep down and had exploding poop that shot right out of the diaper and all over the really nice woman who was trying to help me. Here's to making a lasting impression!

The entire day consisted of comments regarding how much I look like Daddy. The best Mommy got was, "she has your ears". She didn't take kindly to the references, thinking "I went through labor for ears that look like mine???".

Nice Day for a Walk

I enjoyed a great walk on Thursday with Mom and Dad. I also enjoyed the company of Baby Henry. We both have extremely healthy lungs!

Here is a picture of us before the wailing started.
