Pebbles And The Playground

School sent me home with a pony tail atop my head last night, so Daddy said we had to put one back on my head for school today.

First attempt. What do you think? I'm pretty happy with it!

So happy, in fact, that I wore myself out running around the house getting ready for school and plumb wore myself out.

When Daddy picked me up from school today someone snitched that I don't like to be told that playground time is over. Of course I like to be free like the wind!

Pudding Play

Here I am at the increasinly rare photo shoots that take place at school. This session was pudding eat, I mean play.
I am Samantha Copperfield about to perform the amazing artistic spoon trick. Levitate in pudding...NOW!
Hidden talent #34.
And Mommy wonders why I need a bath every night!

Party In The House

Here I am at an infant's birthday party, celebrating with goldfish and sippy cups. Life is simple and sweet, me thinks.

Go Lions!

What's wrong with this picture?
Ah, I know! Mr. Duck goes on the beach mobile. Just like this...

Samantha on a mission.

Catch is super fun. Thanks for playing with me!

Just Grandma and me!

We match!

I have a strange fascination with bibs these days. I know they go around my neck, that shoes and socks go on my feet and pedometers go on my hip. I'm a sharp tool in this shed!

So small for such a big room.

So, Daddy and I have a new ritual. Diaper time is over after the diaper is in the trash can. How does it get there you ask? Well, let me tell you! Daddy puts the tightly wrapped diaper at the top step of the stairs and punts it. We then rush down the stairs and I pick it up and carry it down the hall, proud as a peacock.

Once at the trash can, I raise my arms in triumph.

And toss the diaper in the can. Then I get snuggles from Daddy. Totally worth it!

This is just about as close as shy Samantha got to Grandpa Frank. I was having a bad weekend with my teething. Have I mentioned how much teething sucks?

See Grandpa, I really love you. I think we even have the same hair color. Me thinks I got my looks from the Krempa side of Krempa-Burt! And, my love for the sucky Lions will remain faithful so long as I'm a Krempa, no matter how many times they lose...

See what I mean!

Sure, I'll let you hold me, but I travel with a Nuk!

After the fun died down, it was time for art. I am such an artist. This priceless piece of work is being sent to someone special.

Mommy had a request for more video of the Bride of Frankenstein. Here I am! I have a very specific plan for who should drive the farm truck. Farmer Fred is out and Miss Maggie is in!

A Visitin' They Shall Go

It was a rough morning waiting for Grandma Carol and Grandpa Frank to come up from Virginia. We spent the time at the park in hopes that time would fly by.

It was me that flew by. I just love swings!

I tend to contemplate life's mysteries on the swing.

On our way back home we saw a monster truck. Way cool!

Then we pulled in the driveway and I saw Daddy mowing the front lawn. I see him!

Grandma and Grandpa arrived shortly after and brought snacks with them. Yay!

Birthday Wishes, Take Two

Warning, these pictures suck because Mommy took them after a long day and I was generally grouchy with life. Miss Kim looks awesome, but I'm a total mess.

Miss Kim, I really wanted your birthday to be special with a great picture of your favorite charge, but you'll have to settle for a picture of me thinking about how awful life would be without you in it.

I mean really bad.

Maybe you should just take me home with you!

We'll try this again another week and I promise to smile for the camera!

Happy Birthday, Miss Kim

Miss Kim,

You are such a special person in my life. I just love spending time with you and learning lots of new things with you. Thanks for making school such a fun place to spend my days. I sure hope your day is super special..

Love,
Samantha

PS- Mommy brought the camera to take a picture of the two of us, but she wasn't thinking so well this afternoon. Hopefully she'll remember tomorrow and we can celebrate all over again!

First Day Of Shoe School

As mentioned earlier, it's a new chapter in the life of Samantha Madison Burt. I am now walking everywhere and allowed to wear shoes at school in preparation for playground time.

Here I am cheering for school with shoes.

Wait, I'm not wearing my socks and shoes yet. Will they still let me in school?

I better practice without socks and shoes to make sure I remember how to walk. See my tongue in total concentration?

I'm totally ready to walk my tush off!

School is a whole new world when you get to wear shoes. I hopped out of the car in school parking lot and WALKED across the lot, down the hall and seventeen minutes later I entered my classroom. Sure the walk slowed down considerably once I saw other people and reacted by grabbing Mommy's pant legs and walked between her legs. Everyone but us laughed. It wasn't funny (to us, at least!). Once I got into my classroom I flew across the room to the toys and Miss Jen said that it's because I'm in my comfort zone.
I spent the whole day walking off my buddha belly and then arrived home to a care package from AH and UB. What could it be?

I tried opening the package... until I got distracted by music. Break time!

Back to business. What could it be? Biter biscuits, known in our house as DROOL biscuits.

Man, these things are great for my teeth that are a breakin' through. And they travel great. Thanks, AH and UB!

Bummer

Couple of lessons learned this weekend.

Daddy gets a little pissy when you wake him up to ask how late he wants to sleep in. I thought we were being courteous, but nopers on that.

Slides get super hot when it's sunny out- wear pants.

Daddy throws his back out when football is on and he has to fly to Dallas tomorrow. Good and bad timing, huh?

Mommy needs to approach things with Burt gusto. She was soooo close to losing her voice this weekend and giving Daddy and me much needs reprieve from her constant chatter, but she wussed out and squeaked through with her voice intact. Bummer.

Pictures to follow soon.

Samantha And Sir Mix-A-Lot

Sundays are super fun in the fall. Why, you ask? FOOTBALL, baby!

Bronco fans in the house!

After we were suited up, we went to the office supplies store, where I brought along the fun. It started out with a photo of the walking monster (that's me!).
And ended up with something so much more special.
I come to you!

And then I go back! Boy, I'm sure CUTE as a BUTTon.

I sure make trips to the office supply store more fun, huh!
We were on such a roll with family time that we decided to extend the adventures with a trip to the park. Mommy gets such a kick out of my reaction to the parking lot of my favorite parks because I start giggling as soon as I recognize my favorite stomping grounds. I'm one sharp cookie!
Swings, baby!

And the slide, of course.

I'm a professional slider downerer. Watch how I pull my arms and hands to my chest for maximum speed. Go, speed racer, Go!

All good fun ends in dirt, so it was off to the bath I went. Here I am in my two minutes of tamed hair glory!

Taller Than A Tree

Greetings fellow blog followers! I'm a bit shy, as you can see. I like to hide behind the safety of my Daddy's long legs. Daddy long legs... Get it? Ha Ha!

Anywhoos, Saturday mornings are a fine time to clean out the garages. Yep, plural. We have two garages, which means more work for cleaning. Yikes! Better get a movin'.

For those who want to see how big I've been getting, I'm as tall as trees. Don't believe me? Just look!

Here I am cleaning the tires, more my style. The dirtier the better!
I needed warmer clothes in my size to carry me through until my next growth spurt, so off Mommy went to the Carter's outlet store. Look at what she brought back. No, silly- Mufasa wasn't at the store, but she did perform quality control on the goods Mommy picked out!

It's Happening

I'm growing up. Here's how it went down this week.

Miss Kim:
Please bring in shoes for Sam next week.

Mommy:
Huh?

Miss Kim:
She's getting much better about walking, so she can wear them next week and then the following week I'll take her outside to the playground. Oh, and the first week of October is time to transition to the sleeping mat. No more pack n play. She's going to be a tough cookie to break because of her routine of moving around before falling asleep.

Mommy:
What? I'm not ready to talk about transitioning to tods (toddlers to all you out there). Playground, fine. Sleeping on a mat, Sam's not going to go for that!

Miss Kim:
We'll help her out and pat her back until she falls asleep.

Mommy:
Good luck with that.

See, I'm a kicker and a mover arounderer. I'm pretty sure I'm a classic restless leg syndrome chick, but doctors don't buy that diagnosis at my age. Just you wait 'enry Higgins. You'll come around to my way of thinking soon enough.

So this weekend will be full of new shoe shopping and picking out a present for Miss Kim- who has a birthday on Monday. Yay!

If You Can Walk, You Can Dance And.... Canoe?

I don't know how you kick off your Sunday mornings, but here we squeeze in a fun time with Daddy.
Here's fancy feet Daddy and me dancing around the living room.

I just love Daddy and me time!

Then is was Little People time and it kicked off with a quick meal of cow. Ya know, for protein.

Gosh darnnit, I am super cute!

After nap time it was off to the races. The canoe races in downtown Cranbury. I am the ever constant cheerleader. Go canoers!

We couldn't stay long because I kept walking to the water's edge and wanted to join in the fun for real. So, we headed to the park to walk up some slides and then headed home for dinner.

But before dinner, it was time to treat Mommy and Daddy to some beautiful music. Courtesy of Ms. SMB.

Here I am tickling the ivories of my beach rider. I was in my own little world when Mommy tried to get me to shake my booty. Now, I'm all for shakin' it on down, but I was totally in my groove. So I ignored her- for a long time. Boy, can Mommy get pissy when she's ignored. But we cut the video off for that episode!
