Three Singing Pigs Say "La La La"

No, no you say. That isn't right. Pigs say 'oink' all day and night.

Any guesses what book that infamous line is from? Winner gets a big 'ole 'kiss' from SMB.

There is a significant time lag between my creations and the take home because school proudly displays my pieces for all to admire.

This treasure was done during the Cinco de Mayo festivities.

Crude Humor- It's For Me!

Before we could get started for the day we had to take care of some essential housework. Changing my bed linens were top on the list. We were down to the last layer, so we had to tak the matress out of my crib and put on fresh sheets. SMB to the rescue!

Here I am unleashing the power of the Megablocks that I got as a pre-birthday present from Target yesterday.

I think I should be the official quality assurance tester of this fine bed.

Yep, it's a great bed for SMB!

We continued our Mommy and me weekend with some fun socializing. For breakfast this morning we went to visit Mommy's friend Sarah and her two sons, Nicholas and James. As we grazed on bagels- yummy!- we caught up and learned more about the British culture. Boy, do I love hearing Miss Sarah speak. She's a real live Mary Poppins!

After bagels, it was Wii time. They popped in an extremely funny game full of crude humor. I can honestly say I've never laughed so hard in my entire life. Being less than a year old, means I can say things like that with authority. My memory only needs to retain a little bit of information and without a doubt, that game is the funniest thing I've ever seen. These silly little rabbits running all over the screen and finding themselves in non-Mommy approved situations. It was a stitch!

Nicholas and James were totally smitten with me. I really am that cute, I must say so myself. James thought I was such a ham that he took funny pictures of me on his cell phone. Did you know phones can take pictures? What will they think of next?

Then we came home and headed over to Henry's house for some more fun in the sun. We are so darned cute together that I don't understand why Mommy doesn't travel with camera at all times. Henry and I talked, laughed and even played together. I sure am going to miss him. Turns out this might have been the last weekend that we are both home and living next door to each other. I can't believe how much has changed in one year!

The Great Unstoppable SMB

Team SMB-2
Team Mommy-0

We're on our own this weekend because Daddy is still in San Diego. To make the morning more interesting, I dug deep down and unleashed the power of SMB.

First, I busted through the baby gate that Mommy forgot to close and bolted up the stairs in my never ending quest to go see kitty cat.

This is me 'bolting' up the stairs. Catch me if you can!

So what? My legs are short. It takes me a while.

Victorious! Team SMB-1, Team Mommy-0.

Real jewelry? That's for girly girls. I prefer the chunky bracelets from my toy box.

Mommy doesn't let me have Nuks (pacifiers if you must) during the day anymore. Just for sleeping, teething and total meltdown issues. There were two lying around my room that I made a beeline for. She grabbed them and tossed them under my crib. Silly Mommy. Nothing will keep me from my first love.

I'm a bit too big to crawl under the front of my crib when the railing is lowered.

What's a baby to do? Get creative! Just a few more strides and you're all mine!

Pluck!

Uh-oh. Seems there isn't enough room to hang out under my crib.

Baby emerges triumphantly from crib with two Nuks! Team SMB-2, Team Mommy-0.

Well rested? Check.

Off to the Blueberry Bash at Terhune Orchards. It was a great time, but not nearly as much fun as it normally is when we go as a Krempa-Burt family.

To make up for the lack of father figure, Mommy marched us right into their store and snatched up a cider donut. Yes, I can be bribed.

I should mention that Mommy was our photographer of the day.

Unprofessional shot #2

Seriously, Daddy, why do you leave on the weekend when you know she gets silly ideas in her head about dressing me up for 'field trips'?

Then we headed to Target to clean them out of banana mango and banana peach raspberry jars of SMB food. Yes, that is all the baby food that I will tolerate straight up.

After we went back home for an afternoon nap, we headed to the swings in our neighborhood park. I love the swings and the feel of the wind through my mop of curls. On the way back home, we stopped at the mailbox.

If anyone wants to know why Mommy and Daddy won't be checking their mail anytime soon, check out this video clip.

Can anyone figure out why Mommy and Daddy think I'll enjoy a big girl piano?

Places To Go And People To.... Eat?

As mentioned in a previous post, I really enjoy my alone time with Miss Maria in the morning. Miss Kim is super fun to play with and Patricio is great so long as he's not taking Miss Kim away from me.

But the mornings? I'm the Queen of the World!

Check out my fun today. See if you notice any trends since I was denied my Nuk during non-nap times.
Boy, I sure hope I get some Little People of my own for my birthday. Hint, hint.

I hear Little People help you balance. Seems to be working for me!

Little People, come into my garden.

Look super closely and you'll see I'm 'carrying' a lid around the room.

Life Changing Day

What a super sad day. Farah Fawcett and Michael Jackson passed away and it was Viggo's last day at school. If I had known today was going to be so life changing, I would have worn matching clothes. Alas, Daddy was out of town and I was out of luck in the wardrobe department.

Viggo's Mommy brought cupcakes to school. Bent Spoon. Did you get that? For non-locals, this is a super cool, trendy ice cream and cup cake shop in Palmer Square (heart of Princeton for the really non-locals) that has been adding pounds to Mommy's hips for months. Boy, are we spoiled kiddos! We should celebrate every day with cupcakes!

Ah, the sweet scent of Bent Spoon cupcakes!

Must savor each bite slowly. They are too small for their own good.

Better dig in before some other kiddo gets the wrong idea about sharing. No sharing my junk food!

Rebel Without A Nap

Did you know that Mommy has unrealistic expectations of me? If she had her way I'd be speaking fluent Japanese and running marathons by my birthday in a few weeks.

Imagine her disappointment when she picks me up at the end of the day and hears things like "Samantha only wanted one nap", "Samantha refused to take her sippy cup", "Samantha refused to eat", "Samantha thinks everything is funny and is going to hurt herself hurling off the toys".

I even got busted for trying to play with my cellmate, Grace. She has the crib next to me and I try to play with her between the slats and get a stern talking to. The grownups try to ignore me, but they always look over and I'm right there with a toothless grin. No sleep here!

Here is a pictorial of how naptime goes these days. I think Miss Kim is exaggerating a bit. I mean I sleep some and don't show my mischievous side too much. Thank goodness for cameras to catch the REAL truth. You be the judge!
What makes you think I'm skipping out of my beauty rest?
Is that Bridget coming down the hall to visit me?
Grace- wanna play cards? How 'bout go fish?
I might need to gnaw my way out of nap time.

But seriously, I'm coming into my own and don't care what Mommy writes on my tattler in the morning. I'm a free bird and don't want to follow her schedule. This kiddo needs to stay in the action at school. Too many friends and toys to play with!

Good Morning, Daddy!

I miss you so much. Hope San Diego is cool. I've been there before. How many babies can say that?

Hope you get to meet my new cousin this week. Take lots of pictures!

Good morning!

Red Jello Play

Enough of all that coloring art project stuff. This week is red jello play! Did you know that it takes like cherry? Yummy!

This stuff sure is slimey.

Yet, strangely, I'm super into this red jello play day. Do you blame me?

Just Another School Day, Not!

I thought these baskets came with fries and onion rings.

Hanging out with the new toy. I love new toys, how 'bout you?

Art project time. Wonder if green markers taste like mint?

Was there a budget crunch and not enough boats to go around? Who cares. Thank goodness Patricio and I are such great friends to share boats and markers!

If only you knew what we were scheming!

Fun, fun, fun! Till Miss Kim takes the markers away. What was she thinking?

PS- notice my initials on my bib. Like anyone else wears bibs the size of their torso. Seriously, you should see my underwear. No worries about someone walking off with my skivvies at camp!
PPS- A HUGE thank you to Patricio's Mommy for agreeing to let him appear in feature posts and pictures on my blog. He is my special friend and capturing our special moments on camera is a blessing. And of course a HUGE thank you to Miss Kim who takes time out of her day to grab my camera and memorialize my special moments.

Happy Father's Day!

Wow, Daddy's first Father's Day. Super exciting. From the moment I woke up this morning, I wanted to spend lots of time with him. Unfortunately, his idea of a great Father's Day started out a bit differently. He slept in while Mommy and I perused the aisles of Wegmans and learned how to swindle free diet coke with lime out of the supermarket chain. (By swindle I mean correct the computer system that didn't reflect the price on the shelves. 50% back plus one pack free? Score!)

Daddy was awake when we got back so we rushed into the dining room, not an athlete's sprint in this house, and sat down to card opening time and present giving time. First it was time to open the card that I carefully picked out at Target.

No, Daddy. You're too slow. Let me help you.

It says "How does a peaceful, relaxing, stress-free Father's Day sound?" The inside has cotton balls and says "put these in your ears". Ha Ha Ha! I crack myself up!

Here I am helping him read the card.

And helping him grab those cotton balls for his ears.

For a brief moment I got super sappy, though I'll totally deny it tomorrow. I told him- You are the bestest Daddy in the world and I am so lucky you're all mine. I love all the walks you take me on and games you play with me. I love that you make me laugh and fly me around the house. I love that you don't let Mommy stay serious all the time. I love that you teach me things like states and elements on the periodic table. Whew, that's enough of that sappy stuff.

Next it was time to open the gift that I made at school. I am super proud of the wrapping job.

Hurry, up. I sure want to show you what I made for you!

Mommy spent the weekend rattling the box, but was super confused. You see, I know her history of being sneaky so Miss Kim and I schemed to misguide the snoop. We took chocolate kisses and put them in the painted box with the real present. It worked. She didn't have a clue!

Here is the present that was permanently bestowed upon the refrigerator.

By then I was a pooped pumkin and headed off for my morning nap. Good thing Daddy was there to when I woke up. Hooray for Daddy!

Seriously, could two people be any happier? I don't think so!

We then took a family field trip to Target to start weighing our options for my birthday present. There sure are a lot of toys to pick from. Oh, the choices!

For dinner Mommy and Daddy continued celebrating with Daddy's favorite dinner- hamburgers. I stuck with my tried and true. Wheat pasta, swiss cheese and peas.

What can I get in my tiny little hand?

You mean food is supposed to be on the inside of my human hand spoon? Maybe that's been my issue all along.

My cheeks are super stuffed. Guess I'm getting ready for winter!

Sayonara, Swim Lessons

Sadly, swim lessons have come to an end. I sure love my Saturday adventures with Daddy, but I've found myself more interested in playing in the pool than learning this important thing called 'water safety'. So, we're skipping the next round of lessons due to my hesitation with being plunged under the water repeatedly and with our big move coming up. See ya later Can Do- catch you in the fall!

After a super long nap- hey, it was raining outside so there was nothing else to do- Henry came over for a visit. I sure am going to miss these impromptu play dates. Better take advantage of them while I can.

We had so much fun at the baby grand piano. I practiced my conductor moves.

And my ham face for the camera. Cute, don'tcha think?

Here I am lunging toward the camera. That seems to be my thing. Lunge at things and Mommy and Daddy will somehow protect me from spills and scrapes.

Here is a great shot of Baby Henry showing us his tooth filled grin. Hey there cutie!

After they headed home to get ready for their dinner plans we sat down and I had a great meal of whole wheat pasta, swiss cheese and peas. A great meal until Mommy made herself mushrooms that is. We all know that mushrooms are hands down my favorite food these days. Can you believe she thought she could get away with not giving me any. Harumph!

Here I am before the great mushroom discovery. I think about 37% of the meal makes it in my belly, but it sure is worth it!

Here is a great video of my eating adventures.

After the meal, I had a little nightcap before bed. Yummy! Here I am enjoying my bottle with Daddy.

Can you tell I've had enough?

PS- After spending the entire day with us, Daddy is just a fit of gigles that I associate the faraway sound of the toliet flushing down the hall with Mommy coming back into the room. I always perk up when I hear that special sound because it means Mommy's coming back. Yeah for Mommies!
