Backfire 101

Mommy put me in timeout today for being way too fussy. See, we have this here rule in our house that you can fuss all you want to, but you have to be in your room. That rule got modified after Mommy gained 95 pounds and now I get time out in a chair where I can fuss all I want to and my time out is over as soon as I'm in a better mood.

Picture this-

I'm in my time out chair crying and Mommy goes into the family room to get away from my echoing cryfest. Then all of a sudden it gets really quiet. That perks Mommy up a bit, wondering what markers are involved this go round. As if! Actually, she finds me with my socks off my feet and on my hands as mittens/sock puppets. She asks if I'm ready to stop having a time out and I replied, "Not yet. I'm playing".

Score one for Samantha!

Classy, Of Course!

How do you host a tea party?  Check out my signature style!

Then it was off to pudding making with Mommy.  Of course I took the lead.
And did so with Samantha flair.

I am super cute, if I do say so myself!

Hiya!

TLG Graduates- West Windsor Style

Can you believe today is the last day of The Little Gym?  These four months have flown by and I'm amazed at how advanced I've gotten in such a short time.

I totally rock climbing on mats.

And got so tall that I can read the bottom bar.

And jump jump with the best of 'em.

This is totally one of my favorites. Rolling on the big wheel.  Best somersaulter around!

Daddy, what on earth are you doing?  Tickling me with your foot?  I just love Daddy!

And lest we forget the whale, Daddy made me play ball with her.
See what I mean?  How can you miss that target??

And the class finally came to an end with our graduation ceremony, complete with medals of our very own to take home with us.  I think I'm a gonna be wearin' this thing all the time!

Wowsers, my very first medal.  Too cool!

Off to show the whale!
Then it was time for super lizard at swim lessons.  Mommy ditched me for baby yoga, but Daddy is the bestest swim partner around so I didn't really mind.  Then we napped and headed off to Emily's for a play date. Emily was super nice and let me play with her backpack.  Sweet!

Audits All Around

I still wasn't feeling so hot, so Mommy kept me home.  The twist?  Mommy had a huge audit meeting and i don't let her talk on the phone without saying hi to the person on the other end of the phone.  She loves that about me.  Yeah, I totally got my scarcasm from both Mommy AND Daddy!

I watched more Dora and Mommy distracted me with Daddy's iPad.  I totally dig the monkey game and I'm way more iPad savvy than Mommy.  Shocker, I know.  Gosh, there shines my scarasm again.

Butter!

Today was an awesome snow day, so I stayed home with Mommy and watched tons of Dora.  Mommy had a special doctor's appointment to listen to the baby in her belly, so I took a road trip with her. The doctor confirmed that the baby is still in there and I'm destined to be a big sister really soon. Then we went to Panera and people watched over bagels.  I asked for more and more butter. If you ask me, they never give you enough butter!

I'm All About Bribery!

Have I ever told you that I'm all about bribery? Well, after yesterday's incident, Mommy prepped me the whole way to school not to hit anyone. She told me not to fuss at school and if I didn't hit anyone that I'd get a treat when she picked me up. I can certain manage that. This here toddler ended up with TWO treats after school. Woot!

Then we celebrated a bit more by heading to the library to play mouse and all sorts of fun games. It was such a workout that I got thirsty. So I told Mommy I needed water by myself. Off the chair I slid and disappeared. Of course she's way overprotective and followed by a few steps behind. When I was finished, I got down off the stool and lunged into Mommy like I was giving her a hug, but that's when the great fake out happened. I wiped my wet mouth on her shirt and looked up at her stunned face with my goofy grin and ran back to the computer to get back to my games.

Back home I went into Dora watching mode full on. Sunglasses? Check.

Backpack? Check.

Blankie with a baby doll inside? Check.

Exercise bag? Check.

Lookin' like a hot mess? Double Check.

PS- I'm totally diggin' my big girl bed and don't bother fussing anymore. I actually quite like it!

Swiper No Swiping

Fresh off my Dora marathon, I hit three kids today and got busted when Mommy picked me up from school. Whoops! You can only imagine the talking to I got for this.

When I hit Mommy, she realized that I was really just mimicking Dora doing 'swiper no swiping'. Took her long enough! Of course I was. What, did you think I was doing, actually hitting friends just because?

Bono visits Mayberry

I'm big into running on my makeshift inside track.

I yell 'Ready, Set, Go!' and then race to the other end of the "track". Mommy just laughs at me- I wonder why?

I made a mitten in art time at school and wanted to make one at home, too. Mommy grabbed a bunch of ribbon and did her best impression of a mitten with construction paper. I went to town. I love messy art and managed to glue everything within reach. Fun, fun!
Then I totally got dressed up Samantha style. Daddy couldn't resist showing me some lovin'. I was a little annoyed to be interrupted from running around in my dress up outfit.
Must wear slippers on the indoor track!
Gosh, can I get any cuter? I certainly don't think so!

Breakfast Of Champions- Samantha Style

Now that I'm feeling better I totally needed to eat and eat and eat. I lost way too much weight. How can I tell? Well, I can see my toes when I look down. Yeppers, my belly almost disappeared!

Thankfully Mommy handed over the Cheerio stash and I went to town.

Again.
And again.
Must keep eating.
Must fill up belly.
I think it's working!

What A Recovery!

I made it to school after a horrible round of intestinal distress. Thankfully I'm totally recovered, but I sure miss my free pass to watch tons of Dora in one stretch. But those stretches lead to more trouble for sure.

I knew I was in trouble when yesterday I found my mommy's nail scissors- and used them on my super long nails. Then I Purelled the couch and pulled all the tissues out of the box while practicing my counting skills. Then I turned my hands green with a marker and then used them as stamps on Mommy's papers. When Mommy found my hot mess I proudly announced my tushie doesn't hurt. Thank goodness for the wins in life, right?

Oh, and Mommy made cereal with cheerios and raisins for herself. Out of the blue, I asked to try raisins and liked them! I totally stunned Mommy when I ate a whole handful.

It's official, I'm totally obsessed with Dora- and totally over the purple dinosaur, but I still love his stuffed animals that I play with.

School was a blast and I realized how much I missed my friends, especially Alex.

In the car I asked to go home- it was a fun but super long first day back. Then Mommy mentioned going to the library and I thought it was a great idea. I played mouse a lot with my trusty backpack next to me. When I was ready to go home, I then asked to check out. Mommy was confused and then grabbed a magazine quickly and off to the front desk we went.

When we got back home I asked for eggs, raisins and red juice. Mommy made flounder with stuffed crab meat. I did an about face and decided that the meal on the other plate is always tastier than my own and ate most of the flounder. I absolutely love fish!

Dora Sunday

So, I woke up and still felt lousy. Mommy took me to the doctors, but they said it was too soon to tell what was going on. But the doctor found hives on my legs. I thought hives were only for bees.

Mommy brought me home and declared it Dora Sunday. Yes, yes I really watched 25 episodes in one day. Mommy and Daddy like Barney so much more. Tough. It was my belly that hurt, what can I say?

I had some seriously stinky diapers today. Probably the worst in my entire life. A stomach bug will do that to you.

By 7pm, it was time for bed. Mommy lied down with me until her back totally seized up. The matress on the floor thing doesn't really work for Mommy and Daddy. They whine about being too old for this toddler stuff. Not me, I'm just right for this toddler stuff!

Super Lizard

Daddy and I scooted off to The Little Gym while Mommy reveled in her laziness. Then we came home and picked her up. Mommy's friend couldn't make yoga today, so she skipped as well and came to swim lessons with Daddy and me. Yay for swim lessons!

We're waiting semi-patiently for our lesson to start.

See, when I face sideways my belly almost disappears. What happened to my buddha belly?
Mommy, you must have taken my belly. Give it back!
We play all sorts of games in the pool and I never listen to the teacher. Really, you can swim without putting your head under water. Just ask Mommy.
My favorite pool song? Super Lizard. It goes like this
Super lizard
Super lizard
See him swim
See him swim
In and out of water
In and out of water
With his fins
With his fins

Then I took a nap and when I woke up, I asked for another nap. Mommy thought that was strange and let me hang out watching Dora. Thankfully, she totally called that. I asked for Motrin at 5:30 and then went to bed a bit early. At 10:30, I called for Mommy who found me and my bed covered in vomit. That fiasco bought me two hours of watching Dora while Mommy made sure that I wouldn't get sick again.

Talk about an adventure filled day!

Snow Angel

Mommy just loves this one outfit. She saw it in the store and brought it home for me. And it even matches! I spiced things up a bit with my backpack and tried my hang at balancing on just one foot. Not too shabby.
After school, Mommy brought me to see Daddy's office. I look right at home, don't I? Corporate life suites me quite well. I even went to the AVP's office and did a little decorating on her dry erase board. She'll always know how to spell "Sammy" thanks to me!
Then we went to dinner at Emmy's. Pizza night! And, even better is Emmy's in a big girl toddler bed. We decided to check it out. Yeppers, this is perfect for sleepovers!
Or, since we're such good besties- sleepless overs!

Of Course I Dress Myself, Don't You?

Did you honestly think I have one of those Mommy's who picks out her child's clothes and makes sure that I only leave the house looking totally put together? Ha!

Check out this doozy of an outfit. I wouldn't take my bib off and the boots were my magic touch. The shirt and pants combination? Well, Mommy's excuse was that both were clean and in reach when it was time to dress me. Seriously!

She made it up to me for lookin' like a total fool by distracting me with raisins. Score!

Best Breakfast Buddy Ever

I wouldn't eat breakfast until my best bud was all set up. I even made sure he didn't get his precious red fur all dirty. Elmo got his very own bib and spoon. See it resting in his lap? He's totally ready for some yogurt and raisins. Yummy!

As for me? Well, I wouldn't eat breakfast unless I was squared away, too. I really like dressing up for special occasions like breakfast. Notice the straps to my backpack. Yup, I'm wearing it. And I also have my super special Halloween candy bag, which is stuffed to the gills with special toddler toys.
Oh, Elmo. Don't cry. I hold you.
After a great day at school, I came home asking for an art project. A messy one. Did I mention that I usually get what I want?
And that makes me super happy!
High five!

Backpack, Backpack

I so totally excited about my new backpack. So much so , that when I woke up the first thing I did was ask for my backpack.

Daddy is on top of the world! He got a new office and it's on the top floor, with a super big window that faces my school. So, now he can see me on the playground and knows when Mommy's car comes to pick me up. We even drive under his window to wave to him. I love my extra Daddy time during the day!

The only downside to Mommy picking me up from school is that she actually remembers my report card and actually reads it. School tattled on me, saying that I sometimes cry when someone has a toy that I want. Well, wouldn't you? Sharing is super hard and I'm two, so cut me some slack, please.

Mommy tried some song and dance about the backpack really being hers since she had it before I was born and all, but really. Ever since I was born we all know that everything instantly became mine.

Then Mommy and I headed to the library to play, can you guess?? Mouse on the computer, of course!

False Alarm

I totally woke up at 4:30 AM, so Mommy came to sleep with me in my new big girl bed. That is until we heard Daddy's alarm go off. We raced to get dressed and ready for school. Then Mommy looked at clock and it was only 5AM- Daddy was exercising. Seriously! Since when does Daddy exercise when we're supposed to be sleeping? On the bright side, we had more time to play together before school!

After Mommy picked me up from school and brought be home, we made quiche with a healthy portion of shredded swiss cheese diverted from the recipe directly into my belly. Yummy!

Then, while the quiche cooked up, we played with stamps and paint. Mommy got smart and took off my shirt, leaving me with just my beloved bib. I just love art projects!

Especially when it involves body art.
In all sorts of hard to reach places.
Looking good, if I do say so myself!
On to green, please. Wanna shake on it?
Seriously, this is almost as neat as the time I got into the food dye and turned my mouth green.
On to paints!
I'm making a mess and lovin' it!
Wowsers, I'm totally covered in paint. What will Mommy say?
When Daddy came home, I sure giggled a lot and told him how messy my art projects were and how much fun I had.

Then I found my water wings and wanted to wear them and also asked for a backpack. Daddy found one of Mommy's backpacks and gave it to me. I'm never letting this backpack go. It's perfect for Dora watching!
