Hi Ho, It's Off To Work We Go

Well, actually it's Mommy that was off to work today. I was super excited to spend the whole day with Aunt Helen. She plays with me all day! I came to slightly resent that fact after learning Mommy made Aunt Helen keep me awake all afternoon. Someone is bitter I woke them up at 3am to play and crawl about! I've got things to do and places to go. Chop. Chop.

Mommy needed a super healthy lunch to keep her energy up. Doesn't this look good? I had to inspect everything for quality assurance!

And I played a prominent role in making sure everything ended up in her lunch box. I almost crawled in to be her suprise dessert!

Aunt Helen and I did all the laundry, sorted my nine month clothes and made cookies with baby chicks and easter bunnies on them. Don't skim over the nine month clothes reference. Now that I'm eating like a champ, I'm getting... Don't say it. Well, a bit fat if you must. I'm just about busting out of my six month clothes.
Baby Henry and Aunt E and Uncle Don came by to play with use this afternoon. Party central, but no pictures. Come back tomorrow!

No, Don't Go. Stay And Play With Me!

Sadly, my two weeks of fun with Uncle Bob has come to an end. I think we have some great pictures to share the great memories with his mom. Hi Uncle Bob's Mommy! I sure love him and Aunt Helen- thanks for letting him come visit me!

We celebrated Aunt Helen's birthday before Uncle Bob left for the airport. Well, celebrate is sort of a funny word. It may have been her birthday, but I was the one who had the most fun opening presents. I'm not sure she is taking all of them home with her.

We played the infamous game of 'how high can you stack them before I get to them and knock everything to the ground'.

He had a head start since I was across the room, but never fear I soon set into action.

I win. Here's the top block. But, I'll share with my super cool uncle!
By then it was time for a much needed snack to gear up for some more fun. Cheerios. Thanks, Uncle Bob!

Ah, I know how to combine snacking and fun. Put the Cheerios in the train and send them over to me. Thanks!

Got it!

For those who don't know Mommy very well, she can be ummm unforgiving. When I'm the cause of her sleepless night she finds ways to get me back.

Statue Of Liberty

I officially pulled myself up into a standing position all by myself! Mommy was sitting down and I wanted to see, if only for a brief moment, it I could be taller. Once standing I wasn't quite sure what to do. So, with one hand firmly planted on Mommy's shoulder I reached out with the other hand and let the wind rush through my chubby little fingers. Life is great!
I tried to recreate the image once Mommy got the camera, but that takes a lot of effort.. So, instead you get to see what happened when Mommy realized I was a bit too quiet. Gotta work on being loud when I'm a causin' trouble. At least I'm proud of my mischief!

Hot damn. I made this mess all by myself!

My First Speeding Ticket

After several false starts, I am officially crawling. There has to be something worth my while to exert such energy, but for cat food I'd go anywhere. Yes, you read that correctly. I apparently take after Daddy with a penchant for feline food.

I am now cruising around the house and Mommy has trouble keeping up with me. She says I'm violating the speed limit for crawling!

She set me down with some Cheerios and I thought they were a bit confined in a bowl. Imagine that. Sooooo, I dumped them on the carpet and started two fisting it. I must admit I might have gotten a bit confused since the cat dish was not too far away. Imagine Mommy's horror to find Cheerios and cat food mixed on the floor and lots of bits of food IN my mouth! The Nuk is a nice touch, huh?

For those of you who know my Daddy, he also ate cat food as a baby. Discriminating palates must run in the family...

Watch The Tides Turn

So Mommy has been on this whole eating kick. Notice that I didn't say Daddy and Samantha are on an eating kick. Mommy is known to 'suggest' things for the family without discuss them with the two most important people in the equation. Then she gets grumpy when we don't take heed immediately.

Sure I ate some great food over the last day or two, but I didn't say all of it was willingly. Would you like someone sticking a spoon in your mouth?

Slowly I'm learning that food can taste good. This is a good thing, right?

Busy As A Bumble Bee

I hear a glass of wine a day is good for you. I think I'll help myself to some red.

You think I'm too young for wine? How bout I flash you a million dollar smile and you look the other way?

It was quite a day as I officially started to crawl. I use the term loosely. Chasing the cat is a better description.

Slow down Mufasa! Check out my junk in the trunk while you're looking. Can you believe that DTG said I was 'bottom heavy'? Yeah, DTG you know who you are!

Check out my crawl/crab scurry in motion.

I discovered strawberries for dinner. Super tasty!

To kill some time, Mommy decided to make me pasta for the first time. Little baby alphabet letters. With real cheese. Yummy!

Want some? None for you. I'm shoving it all in my mouth. At once....

Then, as luck would have it Daddy came home super early to give a bath. Woot!
My Daddy is the bestest ever!
This isn't a particularly flattering picture, but Mommy loves it. Can you tell I've been sneaking up to three yogurts per day?

Pretty In Pink

No question I'm a girl....

What happens when Mommies want to play dress up when there is a camera handy? How about this adventure?

No, we don't believe in combs.

Speak no evil.

Check me out. I'm a budding artist. Look at my palette.

The Irony

Mommy and Daddy escaped just in time. They begged Aunt Helen and Uncle Bob to some stay with me for a few days so they could check out the Florida sun. As luck would have it- it snowed in New Jersey today!

Uncle Bob went outside and tossed some snowballs while Aunt Helen and I watched from the comfort of a heated home. Then he brought in a snowball. My first one! Boy, was it ice cold. Yikes! Samantha no like cold!

There will be lots of pictures to come shortly. I'm trying to show AH and UB how to work the memory card on my computer. They just don't get my sign language (yet!).

Yay For Visitors!

AH and UB came to spend a few days with me so Mommy and Daddy could sneak away and spend some grown up time together. Mommy and Daddy mistakenly thought it would be fun in the sun without a 16 pounder on their hip. As if!

Here I am with two people who really love me. They read me books and sing me songs and think everything I do is super cute. I sure wish they lived closer!
Though we don't have any pictures of it, AH and UB and Mommy took me to PJs Pancake House in Princeton for breakfast. It was in this heavenly place that I discovered my true love for buckwheat pancakes. Yummy! Can't wait to go back.

Here we are reading books and inspecting knuckles. What a day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day To You!

Yay for fun holidays. I had so much fun pretending to be Irish today. I tried to score some more green food dye, but Mommy squashed that idea with her boring slant on life that babies should be clean. Have you ever heard of such a thing?
Top o' the morning to you!
Here I am doing my morning exercises. Gotta strengthen those legs so I can start crawling and walking around. Strollers are for babies and I'm ready to be a toddler!
Check out this lone picture of me sporting my shamrock onesie. I'm even chomping on a green ball in honor of this special day. If you look closely you can tell Mommy has banned any fun in her life. Seriously, who wears black on St. Patricks's Day?

This Sucks

Daddy has been MIA for the past few days because his blackberry died on a business trip and he doesn't even have access to email me. Spending 24/7 with Mommy and no Daddy phone calls is a real downer. Good thing his eight days away ends TOMORROW!

Operation Chunky Monkey

Yay for me! I ate a whole four ounces of peach yogurt. By.. my... self! This is huge. Turns out it tastes better than the banana yogurt Mommy begged me to eat yesterday. She has absolutely no shame.

I also had a hot date with half a whole wheat pita and some Cheerios this afternoon. Apples Blueberries? Not so much.

I rock!

My New Friend

I met a new boy today and think he is the greatest. My Mommy and his Mommy used to work together before babies. Before babies, you say? Was there ever such a thing?

Cutie Caleb and I got to eat lunch in a grown-up restaurant. Too bad they didn't have rice puffs on the menu!

I think Cutie Caleb is crushing on me. See, he's trying to share his teething ring with me. He's the best!

Cutie Caleb had just woken up from a really great nap and was in a super good mood. I, on the other hand, missed my morning naps. Yes, naps. And, boy was I sleepy by the end of lunch.

I can barely keep my eyes open and that darned flash sure isn't helping.

Calling "G" "53"

As I told Mommy before bed, "don't mess with the bull- you'll get the horns!" Mess with baby and you get puked on.

So, Dr. M said I'm a little cutie who should get to decide what I want to eat because I only gained 3.5 ounces in two months. I'm a whopping 15 pounds, 9.5 ounces at eight months, one day. Forget all that stuff about veggies, grains and meat being good for you. This belly wants ice cream and Pirate's Booty!

We're going to be playing the fun game of trying lots of different kinds of food and playing Reaction BINGO. What's that you ask? Mommy has a card with a grid full of potential reactions and the days of the week running across the top. The rest is played like regular BINGO, except I call the shots. Then in a few weeks I get to go see another special doctor who goes by the name of Dr. GI to see who won the game. I sure hope it's a good prize. Maybe Ben and Jerry's New York Super Fudge Chunk ice cream!

Tonight I grazed on: banana mango, Swiss Miss vanilla pudding, Yo Baby! banana yogurt and Pirate's Booty (white cheddar, of course).

Oops!

I pushed Mommy and Daddy a bit too far this time. They called Dr. M about my refusal to eat solids and I somehow ended up with a doctor's appointment tomorrow. I get that they're frustrated, but how come I'm the one who ended up with a vist to the doctor? If they're so concerned, they should meet with their doctors and leave me out of it!

Funny Faces! And Other Happenings

Mommy brought out the camera so she could send Daddy pictures while he is on his business trip. Boy, do I miss Daddy!

To pass the time, it's caption contest time....

Photo Number One

Photo Number Two

Post a comment (anonymous is fine, but you still need to verify those pesky words because spam is out of control!) and let me know what you think of my funny faces. Winner gets to change my next stinky diaper. Hooray!

We hung out with Henry this morning AND this afternoon. I'm hot stuff, what can I say? Seriously, my boyfriend is getting super cute. And I like to think he only has eyes for me. What do you think?

Here I am super focused on Aunt E reading my new favorite book, Pajama Time!

I'm a huge fan of my nuk. I especially like the nuk on a rope concept and find it provides HOURS of enjoyment. You can't tell, but my nuk is backwards and I'm chomping on the hard plastic. Ah, the joys of teething for five months straight without a tooth in sight.

So much fun in fact that I'm pooped out by 6pm these days, even sleeping 11 hours at night and 3.5 hours worth of naps during the day....I'm a snuggle bunny, aren't I? I scooted all the way down the crib to get right in the comfy crook of the crib.

Hurry home, Daddy. Eight days is super long in baby time and cat years. We both miss you bunches!

Bath Time!

Daddy gave me a bath tonight and let me play with all sorts of toys. They are so much fun to play with and they still taste fine even after all the soap is in the water.....Go figure.

I just love flowers! They smell and taste great.

And we practiced walking down the aisle. Here is my funny veil. Boy, do I look silly!

Tricks, Secrets and Challenges

Mommy has been doing more work emails lately and she's been placing me at her feet where I can get all tangled up in the endless power cords that have established homestead in our dining room. She got tired of me sticking live wires in my mouth and decided to see how long I can stand by myself without any help.

This photo taken at 9:08am.
This photo taken at 9:13am.

9:14am- Fell and hit my head right on the corner of the dining room table leg. Sported a goose egg for three days. Mommy called it a 'secret' that Daddy didn't need to know.

Later in the day I took my normal trip to the kitchen for more fun in the cabinet. No food dye this time, but I was still able to find things to make a mess. Woot!
Check out this box of straws. I will take them all out of the box. I hereby accept Mommy's challenge.

One down, 180 to go!

Boy, this is fun!
Did I do that? (Say it in Steve Urkel's voice for full effect.)

Cruisin' At A Red Light AKA Standing Still

I'm getting really good at bonding with our sofa.

No, I'm not about to be frisked by the police. Silly, it's just me practicing standing by myself!

I love the taste of leather. Yummy!

Hands-free. It's not just for cell phones.

Soy- It's Good For You

Mommy has been a bit lax these days about eating her dinner next to me. She set down her edamame about four feet from me and went to check her email.

I decided to liven up the living room with real live Burt art. And discovered that edamame are the perfect size for my little pincers. Boy was Mommy annoyed when she had to dig the perfect edamame out of my mouth! Serves her right. Isn't she supposed to look out for these choking hazards?
