Almost There

Today we wind down week two of Liz, the painter, being with us and the entire main level (except the darned powder room) is officially painted. Boy, does it look so much better!  My room is wallpaper and glue free.  By next Tuesday I will have beautiful green wall.  Friday will be my curtains install and it will be time to start thinking about a big girl bed to go in my new room.

Joe came over tonight to put the toilet in the powder room.  He inspected the new vanity and realized our pipes are backwards for all the vanities made today.  Thankfully we had ordered pizza to take the sting out of that and the broken window in my room.  Guess I'm sleeping with the window open tonight and Joe's a comin' back in the morning.

Warning- read this passage with an open mind.

I've learned how to open the door to the bonus room and what finds I've found.  Besides sporting my variety of stripes today (yes, even my socks are striped, green and white, to match my top and bottom, right?) I found these kickin' black patent leather shoes.  And they're velcro to boot so I was able to put them on myself before Mommy even found me in the bonus room.

Here I am strutting my stuff in the freshly painted kitchen- what do you think?

Think I'm cuter with a smile?  Check!

You really don't think I match?  I really don't think I care!

To pour salt into that wound I thought it would be great to bust out my winter hat because it's soft and hats should be worn on your head.

It makes slides so much more fun!

I put Roger in charge of keeping critters out of Daddy's garden.  I chose wisely as he is doing an awesome job!

Have You Seen Bo-Bo?

With our house turned a bit upside down these past two weeks, we haven't had all that much time for adventures. My art table and supplies have been tucked away and all my toys are heaped in one big pile in my toy room.

What has my diaper in a bunch?  I've gotten in the groove of watching Bo-Bo in the mornings.  A ritual started when AH and UB were here and we were trying to be quiet in the mornings to let them sleep in until at least 6am.  So, Mommy and I faithfully grab some food and we'd snuggle on the couch to watch the big, purple dinosaur sing songs while I ate breakfast.

This morning I went into the family room, admired the new color on the walls and the white (not peach semi-gloss!) ceiling and went to the couch to fetch the remote.  Mommy said that we couldn't watch Barney today. What?  I turned around and cried a bit while repeating several times, 'uh-oh'.   The tv was gone!

After some detective work on my part, I discovered the tv has been temporarily relocated to my toy room while paint dries.  What????

Bring Bo-Bo back!

Special Hello To My Picture-less Friend

I went to Mommy's old work today and had a blast teaching her former co-workers the fine art of putting Elmo to sleep.  I even brought Elmo and a blankie to ensure the bestest demonstration ever.

I took some great pictures but my special friend has banned them from the public-o-sphere we call Land of Little Burt.

Hello Miss D!

All By My Lonesome

After a cold walk to the library, I settled down with a book and read it to Mommy.

By. My. Self.

The book was super long and super complicated. Don't believe me?

It went something like this.

Cereal.  All gone.
Juice.  All gone.
Cookie.  All gone.
Ice Cream. All gone.

I rock.  The end.

Statements Of Fact

I'm totally coming out of my shell with this whole talking thing.  Lest you think that I'm spouting mathematical equations at my age, I'll share with you my two favorite observations.

Noise!  It can be any kind.  Beeping, cars, horses, you name it.  It's all noise.  Summed up in one tiny word that I can use repeatedly throughout the day.  The English language is super efficient.

Water! I'm not picky. If I see a lake, river, stream, sink, toilet.  It's all water to me and I want you to know every time I see it. Driving, walking, sitting.  I'm your official water looker-outer-er.

I'm also a huge fan of horses but it's more fun to say 'neigh' and I do lots because there are four homes with horses on my street alone!  Oh, and don't forget the horse rein holder on Main Street. That's worthy of a 'neigh' every time I pass it.

Another fun one is 'shower'.  Every morning while I eat breakfast I hear the water rushing through the pipes when Daddy showers and I look up and say 'shower'.  That becomes 'I shower' and I put my name in the queue. Duckie and I are the best shower buddies ever.  Mommy scrubs my belly and I scrub Duckies!

Dogs In A Tunnel, Toddler On A Bridge

I know most of you spend Sunday mornings relaxing with family.  Me?  I spend it trying new things.  Today was perfect for testing out my new tunnel (thanks Great Grandma Pat!) and seeing if doggy will fit.

I'm thinking just a little brute force will do the trick.

Yeppers on that.

After all this excitement and it was only 8am, Daddy called it.  Rain outside, check.  Mommy and Samantha to Freehold Mall, check.  Here I am inside the mushroom ride that is supposed to require quarters but enterains just the same for me without.

Smile for the camera!

Can you see me?  I'm poking  through the lower right window.

Then we ran right upstairs to toddler paradise.  See the carousel in the background?  Here I am on the way down from a successful run up the bridge.

And taking the horsey on a ride.

After much fun at the mall, we went to Target and Wegmans. Forgetting something at each place is Mommy's specialty. Good thing Daddy is thoughtful and runs out after we get back from the store to get the things on Mommy's list that she forgot about. I used this time to nap peacefully.

Then it was toddler computer games at the library.

Need headphones to keep quiet. It is the library after all.

Herb Garden In The Making

With all the home improvement projects going on, Mommy has decided it's high time to clean out the storage room that largely goes weeks without human contact.    She is going through boxes, one at a time.  Me?  I'm ripping of post-it notes one at a time.  Purple.  Matches my pants!

Then I took a quick break to have some water.

And, of course, shared with my dolly.

After we tackled a few more boxes it was time to head over to the nursery to pick out some herbs.  I opted for the tried and true selection method.  Taste which pot has the bestest dirt.

Sure ended up with a bunch this way.  Daddy, look out.  There's another gardener in this family!

A shoeless gardner, to be specific.

Hope they don't charge me for my shoes on the way out.

Crappers, how do these things get back on my feet?

Friday Night In Mayberry

Mommy picked me up from school and we walked around Mayberry in search of the library. Only we got there THREE minutes before they closed.  I screamed for 2. 5 minutes while Mommy grabbed some magazines and we hightailed it out of there.  To make it up to me she took me to the school playground where I discovered the wonders of the big kids slide.  Mommy let me climb up myself and go down the slide by my lonesome.  The best part?  We high-fived it when I whizzed past her.  Two kids jumped the fence about then and looked at Mommy (reading her magazine while I climbed the stairs- super concerned for my safety, I'm sure) and thought she was a bit weird.  Then they saw me and the about ten year old girl was all like 'aww, that's so cute!!!'.

Mommy said it was time for the big kids to play since they were flinging a basketball down the slides. So we headed for the car, while circling back to the brick walk three whole times.  What is it about threes today?  Anyhoo- we passed the horse rein holder doohicky and then got to the car when I saw heavenly pizza and lots and lots of kids.  I flashed a Samantha smile at Mommy and we decided to celebrate GNO (Daddy's in Boston today) with Mayberry Pizza.  We sat down at a table next to the energetic families and minded our own business until they made some cute comment that required my feedback.  Then, as luck would have it, our other friends came walking by and we all had an impromptu party on Main Street.  Life is awesome!

Came home to find my playroom (living room and dining room) are the prettiest red you've ever seen.  Can't wait to see the progress next week.  Turns out I sure miss the powder room.  Being down a toilet in this house is like the supermarket being out of ice cream. Yikes!

Wanna know how Mommy distracts me these days?  With the promise to take pictures of ourselves.  Don't know what I mean?  Our Mac can take pictures in the 'photo booth' and pictures we take.  Check out my of favorite one of the day.

We snuck in some Bo-Bo (Barney!) and then read umpteen books before I was shipped off to slumberland.  Rumor has it Daddy will be home in the morning and we go for our very first family photo shoot.  Yay!

Baker's Corner

After an amazing spring break and awesome trip to the Please Touch Museum I headed to school bright and early this morning.  I came home to find Liz at our house.  Who is Liz?  I just learned today that she is spending three weeks at our house to take down all the horrific wallpaper glue and paint the walls and ceilings.  Mommy thought I could use a baking project to stay entertained- code for 'away from all the wallpaper stripping action in the kitchen.

Mommy made cookie dough balls for me to roll in colored sugar to then flatten out and bake.  We didn't really make it to the flatten out and bake part of the process.

Yummy, this red colored stuff is really tasty.

I think I tasted half the cookie dough balls.  Mommy said that this batch is for family only. No sharing.  What kind of lesson is this?

Teaser Post

I have to find some time to do justice to this post, but check out my adventures from today.  Anyone want to guess where I went?

I got to be a dump truck driver.

And be a very confused lady bug.

Check out some amazing slides- that's Emily behind me.

Ride a carousel by myself.

Do my own grocery shopping.

And vacuum outside.

Emily and I had a blast- come back soon for all the adventures!

Tweet Tweet

Boy, time flies like a bird!  I can't believe my spring break with AH and UB is coming to a close.  It's our last day together and we did what all toddlers love to do- headed straight to the book store and toy store. Life is grand.

I am pretty sure there was some slick stuff going on and I ended up with a birthday present, but I'm not sure what went down. I do know that Mommy picked out some blocks to thread and we headed home straight away to break them in.

Here we are taking them all out of the box to inventory the goods.

Quite a selection, me thinks.

I can't remember what I was doing in this one, but I sure got a kick out of it!

Seriously, I ended up on the floor laughing so hard.

Ah, back to business.  What business is this exactly?

Thankfully, AH is a great teacher.  I think I understand now.  Put the thread through the hole in the bead.

Why did they make this darned string so long.  I'm not tall enough to put the bead on myself.

Thanks, AH!

Four wasn't enough to make a pretty necklace.  Here comes #5.

After a solid week of fun and adventures it's time for one more.  AH and UB are spending the evening with me while the parental units head out to a wedding.  Can you believe I wasn't invited?  At least I get to have my own fun tonight.  And we'll kick it off with a great photo of the three of us in front of the new mantel.

Bet I fooled you into thinking we all ran over to the fireplace, sat down and smiled nicely the first time, huh? Well, I ask you to use the photos below as a visual of how the events truly unfolded- according to guest blogger, Mommy.

Step #1- Grab Samantha.  Everyone else smile!

Step #2- Line 'er up. Everyone else smile!

Step #3- Samantha inspects the wall to make sure it's still holding the house up.  Everyone else smile!

Step #3- Samantha finally gets around to looking at the camera.  Everyone else smile!

Step #4- Winner!

I had a great week and sure hope you can come back soon, AH and UB!

PJs

Nope, I'm not talkin' 'bout bedtime. I'm talkin' pancakes!  AH and UB come to the area to see me and fill up on pancakes.  It's a match made in maple syrup!

Can you tell they were super happy to be out with me and pancakes?
