The Most Appropriate Bib In The World

Yes, Mommy and Daddy have a sense of humor. You can tell when I am getting on their last nerve because I find myself wearing this bib.

Hamburgler

I think I've found my first job- in the food service industry. I make a mean hamburger. Wanna try one?

Hmmm, does the cheese go on the bottom or top? This takes a lot more concentratin' than I thought it would!

Please stay put together, at least until I can slap the top bun on. Much too big for my dedicated grasp.
Yay! I'm serving my very first customer who looks like my super cute doppelganger!

Julia's Birthday And The Emotion Eric Challenge

I am so glad there are so many kiddos in school because all their sucker Mommies and Daddies bring in treats to celebrate the special occasion. Though truth be told, my Mommy is just as much a sucker as the rest of them and is already planning to bring in treats next month.

Anyhoo, I digress. Here are some lovely pictures that captured Julia's special day. Since it was my camera, most of the pictures are of me. Surprise, Surprise my inner diva came out in full force.

First, some quick background. There is a website called Emotion Eric and he has embraced his life mission to depict each human emotion on his website. I feel like taking him on today and trying a little emotion myself. I know this seems like picture overkill, but I am really impressed with my wide range of emotion displayed at one birthday celebration. But, judge for yourself.

Sadly, I have no pictures of Julia because I’m not an approved class historian. For those interested in starting a petition to have me be so instated, please utilize the comment section of this post and I will forward onto school for their consideration.

Here is my favorite mugshot. Like any celebrity, didn't have time to do my hair before the shot.
Goldfish? Suh-prise!

You sure I need to eat this goldfish before you'll let me get my junk food on?

Geez, these goldfish sure are gross!

You take it. I spit on goldfish.

Finally, my prize cupcake. Come here, love.

Ah, the sweet sweet taste of pure sugar in the delightful form of frosting.

Share? Watchoo talkin' 'bout, Willis?

Just call me good o'le Saint Nick, I mean Samantha.

My goodness, cupcakes sure hit the spot.
If I'm super quiet and quick, I might be able to finish my cupcake and swipe Patricio's before Miss Kim notices. Big fan of the shovel technique.

You mean this isn't my cupcake? My bad. Want it back?

Must get in mouth as soon as possible. Must distract Miss Kim. In know. "Miss Kim, Miss Kim, Look over there, there's a pink elephant in the other direction!"

Can't get enough cupcakes.

Me thinks I've hit a new low.

This is pure desperation to keep the cupcakes coming my way.

Can you tell I'm plotting how I can wrangle a trip to Bent Spoon in Princeton for some more cupcakes tonight?

Wait, I think there is another birthday coming up soon. Yay!

Memorial Day Celebrations

Memorial Day Weekend was quite an adventure. Daddy, Mommy and I spent a whole three days together and I just about busted out of my diaper with joy.
After jaunts to the playground, lots of walks and a little house hunting trip, we finished up the fantastic weekend with a field trip into Cranbury for their Memorial Day parade. Our friend Danny and his Daddy were in the parade. How cool is that? You might remember him from the Cranbury Halloween parade. Are you detecting a theme in this close knit town?
Mommy figured out that putting me on a blanket limits my ability to manuever around the lawn. Darn that icky grass!
Here I am cheering on the people in the parade. Go! Go! Go!

I love having a bird's eye view of the town. Jealous?
What did you say? I'm getting too heavy to carry around all day? Yikes, guess that means standing on the grass.....
Of course I knew it was going to turn out like this. Ah, the power I have over Daddy. Look at his feet and ask yourself where his shoes are.

Uh, this standing around is for the birds. Where is my chair?

Gotta get focused so we can see Danny.
Here is Bridget next to me cheering on her brother and enjoying a great tasting lollypop. Not sure if you heard, but she made the Cranbury paper over Easter weekend this year. We have a local celebrity in our sights!

Finally, the star of the parade. It's Danny!
After the parade it was off to the backyard for some ol' fashioned grilling fun. For the babies (that's me) it was time for some hammock swinging. Super fun!

Ch-Ch-Changes

So, we went to look at a house this morning and we all fell totally in love with it. So, we're going to be moving this summer to a certified house. It's big enough that I can get into a whole lot of trouble before Mommy and Daddy find me. This is going to be great.

The Best Daddy In The World

We had so much fun at swim lessons this morning. Another boy, Christopher, joined our lesson and we made the most of it with three of us! It's way easier for circle time with more than two babies in the pool!

Here I am kicking up a tidal wave.

After swim lessons, Daddy and I went home for naps while Mommy did errands. Then Daddy and I went shopping. It plum wore me out. Thank goodness for Daddy's broad shoulders to rest on!
Ah, the wonders of three naps in one day. Life is good!

Have Crab, Will Travel

I'm still getting used to the walker that's also a super cool riding car. Thank goodness my guardian crab- Crabby McCrab to you- is here to look out for me.

Here's a play by play of me learning the inner workings of an automobile. Dong, where is my automobile? (who knows what epic movie this was taken from?) I digress...
Very interesting, the trunk is in front? Is it a Beetle?

Hmm, this makes an interesting clicking sound. Wonder what it actually does.

Still making that noise. Let me inspect a little closer.

Why is Mommy always hiding Cheerios in unusual places?

Crabby McCrab, just rest on my shoulder so I can get into this trunk better. Yummy!

Shocking, I Know

Yesterday was Julia's birthday at school. I devoured my vanilla cupcake and couldn't care less about the goldfish.

Miss Kim kindly suggests to Mommy that she bring in new foods for me- like fruit. Somehow the waffles that I've had every day since starting school might not be the most nutriciously sound meal. Mommy truthfully told her that I don't like bananas, apples or citrus enough to eat them at school. Avocados? No thanks. Mommy mentioned I like seafood, but most of the other babies abide by that lame rule about no shellfish before a year. I bet those are the same kids that don't believe in nuts early on either. So, no good food goes with me to school. Lame-o!

Turns out I like guacamole with garlic and cilantro. Why don't they serve more grown up food to babies? We'd be a lot happier!

PS- I miss Daddy so much that Mommy called him while I had my nighttime bottle and he read me my bedtime stories. I can't wait until this weekend so we can rough house. Mommy is such a wimp to play with.

You Decide

Baby Baby or Mean Mommy? Which team are you on?

The facts as the event played out:
  1. Kitty cat's water dish called my name.
  2. I crawled over while Mommy was getting my bottle ready.
  3. I think 'Hmmm, water'.
  4. Mommy mumbled something about 'no, that is for the kitty cat'.
  5. I ignored her - speak clearly next time.
  6. Yep, the carpet is just like a towel. There to absorb my spills.
  7. Yummy, this water dish sure tastes good.
  8. Stern, raised voice coming from above.
  9. Swift arms grab me and plop me in prison, AKA my crib and I'm not talking the MTV kind.

Clearly wronged, I felt the only course of action was to go right to sleep and pretend I wasn't being punished. Take that Mean Mommy!

SD To SD

Miss Kim is the best. She knew I was missing Super Daddy this week and helped me make a special art project just for him.

He's going to eat this up when he sees the blog tonight. Bonus points for Super Daughter!

Daddy, come home soon so we can play with crayons together!

Meet Me in -- Dallas?

What a week it's shaping up to be. Daddy flew to Dallas for the week and I celebrated by cutting my second tooth. Fast and furious, I tell ya. Mommy can't feel the tooth, but she can see it and I sure can feel it. I'm going through bibs like they were going out of style.

Here I am trying to hop in the shower. Next time I should try to get out of my clothes first. They sure weigh me down.

Family Weekend Fun

What a fantastic family weekend. Let me recap for you.

After breakfast it was time for art. Mommy was feeling left out that school does art projects with me so she bought me markers. Now what do I do with these crazy things?

Hi camera man!

This is where things took a nose dive. Yep, the marker went right in my mouth and Mommy darn near had a heart attack on the spot.

Markers sure are tasty, art projects can wait!

Mommy found out that my art projects at school are done with Miss Kim's help and that I'm not allowed to eat the markers there. Mommy found me out!

Then Daddy joined in on the fun. Woo-Hoo! But the marker comes with me!

Then it was off to swim lessons. Even though it had been two weeks since being in the pool, I took to it like a fish. A goldfish to be exact!

Multi-talented. I can paddle and smile!

Look closely, it's me under the water while Daddy holds Taylor.

After swim lessons it was family lunch and nap time. This seems to be a routine we've quickly embraced. Sometimes it seems I like to get a head start on the nap part of our ritual, so Mommy rides in the back seat on the way home to keep me awake. Party pooper!

Lunch was fantastic crab cakes and peas. My favorite!

After we were all rested we headed to the park. What ten month old doesn't love swings?

Here I am with Daddy on the way to the park. Notice that we're stopped because Mommy wanted yet another photo opportunity. Yes, the camera is attached to her hand all weekend long!

Good grief Mommy. There's a swing with my name on it!

Too bad none of the swing pictures turned out. You'll have to settle for my first playground slide ride. (I've been on the slide at school, hence the incident report about going up the slide and down the steps face first.) Mommy helped me get it right, but I still wasn't sure how I felt about the whole situation.

Sadly our park time ended all too quickly. Daddy, why can't we ditch Mommy and sneak back to the swings? I promise I won't tell!

For dinner Mommy and I shared our signature flounder stuffed with crab meat. She tried to sneak in some corn, but I'm too quick for her.

Sunday morning meant a trip to the land of kitty-cat stairs in Mommy and Daddy's bedroom. Why do kitty-cats get all the fun? I want to climb, too! It's a bit more difficult for a 17 pounder like myself. These stairs are soft and were made for Mufasa's nine pound petite frame.

Chickie will help me. Hooray!

Mommy, I'm a comin' to get you!

Well, look here. Who's that super cute baby in the mirror? It's me! It's me!

For lunch we had our first family restaurant trip. I think it went swimmingly well. Turns out I love spiced tofu and cheerios combined with brown rice and my goose.

Here I am trying to get the waitresses attention with the same diligence she showed for trying to pretend a baby wasn't in her section.

Say hello to my goose that Auntie Diana got for me at Mount Vernon. Who would have guessed she'd get me the best teething toy in the entire world. The beak is just perfect for my tiny mouth.

Sunday afternoon found Mommy working super hard on budget stuff for her job. So, Daddy and I decided to bust a move and check out Target and Babies R Us. We walked everywhere and definitely got in our 10,000 steps. How else do you think I keep my svelte figure?

We had a great dinner of mushrooms with ranch dressing and super spicy beef and bean chili. Can you tell I'm not a normal baby with normal baby food likings?

I'm getting so good at feeding myself, dontcha think? Here I am trying to make sure Mommy has to work really hard at bath time.

Sippy cup practice. Sure harder than it looks!

I clean up nicely, agreed?
