Reunited With My First Love

Mommy told me of the greatest surprise ever.  I have a playdate with Henry this afternoon.  For those new to my blog, Henry was my next, next door neighbor when I was born and he's just less than a month older than me.  I was so excited to see Henry that I forgot my pants.

Mommy looks out for me and helped me select another outfit that had bottoms.  Then, when I woke up from my nap, we headed straight to Henry's. Well, almost straight to Henry's.  Did I ever share with you the sorrows of being my mother's child?  She has less than no sense of direction. It's bad direction.  We got totally lost and it took us 45 minutes to get to Henry's when it only should have taken 15 minutes.  Oh, and we had to call Daddy in California to look up directions because Mommy can't read her GPS.  No joke.

Thankfully, Henry and fam are the most laidback, amazing people ever.  They welcomed us into their awesome home. Henry and I jumped right back into our friendship like time never passed.  Except we can now walk and talk and drive cars.

With a little help.
We've got it!
Henry, I adore you!
Henry's daddy rocks!

We sure play nicely together!

Mommy and Henry's mommy loved the chance to catch up.  They sure miss the good ol' days of impromptu visits and play dates. I sure hope we can get together more often because we're having a blast.
We had an amazing Thai food dinner and I had my trusty baby food and Chrissy, the quiet sibling, had her usual.  She's so predictable!  When it was time to go home Henry and I wrestled by the front door to distract the mommies.
We're pretty good at this!
Right about now Henry opened the front door and we busted out.

Being two is the bestest.  We are more independent and we can have a blast with our friends.  Henry, I've missed you and can't wait to see you again!

M-I-C-K-E-Y M-O-U-S-E!

So, to keep Mommy happy, school sat me on the potty every hour and I kept my diaper dry until nap time.  Score!

Mommy was super happy when she picked me up and I used this opportunity to as to watch a little television.  Micky Mouse Clubhouse to be exact.  Mommy was a bit stunned because we've never talked about this show and she's not sure how I even know about it.  As if Emily and I don't talk.  Really!

I slipped on my doctor stethoscope and played doctor with Chrissy while mommy made dinner.  That's Dr. Burt to you!  Thankfully, Chrissy squirmed away with a clean bill of health.  She is one happy patient!

Mommy gave Chrissy a bath and I was a little too quiet.  So quiet that Mommy went searching for me and didn't have far to roam.  Boy, did I get in big big trouble.  I also earned the mother of all lectures.  Take note- stickers are for paper!

Just a few more flowers ought to do it.

Uh-oh.  One fell on the floor and got stuck.
Very stuck.
All better.  The cabinet loves the stickers and is much happier all jazzed up.  Too bad Mommy disagrees.
Mommy forgave me and then let me watch Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.  I pushed my luck and took advantage of her sheer exhaustion and scored Curious George. Double score!

Wait For It....

The time has some to share with you something that Mommy and Daddy can't get enough of.  It's our family secret that I want to share with you.

You've seen lots and lots of pictures of me.

Here I am in all my glory, me and my tuft sure have great height.

Now, I proudly present to you.
 The Chrissy smile!!!!!

Where did it go?

It's right here and me thinks it's here to stay!  I'm a smiling, gabbing, happy fool and I have made it my mission to make everyone around me just as happy as I am.  If you don't want to smile, then stay away. You've been warned!

Multi-Tasking

Mommy needed a tiny break so she plopped me in Daddy's lap and asked him to play with me.   He had a great plan- take the blackberry and look up sports scores.

Read them to me.

He's doing manly things and still getting credit for playing with me.  Smart Man, Daddy!

Visits Galore!

Wowsers, there sure were a lot of people over yesterday, but nothing tops a visit from Grandparents!

Grandma Carol came all the way from Virginia to meet me.  I love her and her pretty necklace.  I can't stop staring at all the pretty colors. Maybe she'll let me play with it.

Samantha wasn't the center of attention this time, but she did really well.  Mommy knows how to make Samantha smile.  Milk in a sippy cup, meatballs and raisins.  Happy camper!
What a huge treat for Great-Grandma Pat to come all the way from Indiana to snuggle with me.
As you can see, she is a champion snuggler and I couldn't get enough.

Grandma and Grandpa brought up tons and tons of Easter treats just for Samantha.  I think she agrees that it was worth donning a dress two days in a row!
These stickers really go on the window?  Hmm, I'll have to remember stickers (and markers?) on the window.

Can you see all the pretty necklaces Samantha is wearing.  And Grandpa snoozing on the couch.  Super cute!
So many necklaces!

Grandpa Frank and Uncle Travis were super great to drive up for a visit just to see me.

Yikes, I didn't realize I'm suppose to smile.
Hmmm, I might not get this right any time soon.  It's sure is complicated to smile and look at the camera at the same time.  Kinda like walking and chewing gum.....

Samantha was fresh off her tea party adventures yesterday and wanted to be super polite and offer everyone some tea and scones.  What a great hostess.
Since I can't match those efforts, I dug deep into my bag of tricks and let Daddy blow on my tuft of hair.

Look closely and you'll see it's totally standing up.  This is one of my claims to fame.  I'm super cute and have a silly lock of hair that defies gravity.

We had such fun with the family visit. Thanks for making such an effort to come all this way just to spend the holiday with us.  Yay!  Oh, and Daddy made a great Easter dinner and I hope next year he lets me try a roll with butter.  Yummy!

Egg-cellent Adventures!

It's here, it's here!  Today is finally here and all my friends are coming over for a great Easter Egg Hunt adventure.  I'm super duper excited!

Here I am waiting for them to come over.  I've got trusty backpack on for reinforcements.

Katie was the first to arrive and couldn't resist jumping in on the egg finding fun.  Hang tight Katie, more friends are a coming.
I see Emily pulling up right now!
Emily also couldn't resist the promise of treats hidden in plastic eggs!
Better distract ourselves with a little tea party.
Daddy did a fantabulous job getting me ready and taming my curls.  Thanks, Daddy!
Connor just arrived.... Let The Hunt begin!  Go, Katie, Go!

Sit tight and get a load of all these tushie shots.  That means we're all finding eggs, you got that?

Yay Emily and Connor. Shake, shake!

I think there is one under here.
Way, way under here!
We girls are pretty sure the plants are hiding tons of treats.
We all left the forest counting our treasures.

Hmm, our baskets are sure getting heavy. Score!
Eggs hidden behind curtains?
Go teamwork!

Happy camper right here!
Eggs hidden in toys?  Double Score!
Wowsers, I got so many eggs that Mommy had to switch out my basket.
Emily found the motherlode on the new couch.
Katie's little brother got in the game.  He made noises to get Katie's attention when he found eggs.  He and Chrissy weren't able to fully join in this year, but they definitely took notes and promise to be serious contenders next year.

This is what happy looks like!

And this is what silly looks like!  We love Emily's Daddy.  He will do just about anything to make us giggle!
And is sure worked!
Chrissy was a tough sell.  She couldn't quite figure out what was going on with so many peoples in our house.
I have to tell you that I'm super proud of how we've all grown up and can sit at the table and have real toddler conversation and share our treats with each other.
I foresee lots and lots of tea parties.  Sorry, Connor!  We'll throw in some cars at our tea party just for you, okay?

While we are all at the table at the same time, Mommy couldn't quite get a great picture of all of us sitting and smiling at the same time.
This is pretty good.

May I have some more juice, please?
Please?
What?  No more juice?
Maybe you didn't hear that I asked politely......
Silly Mommies and their sugar monitoring skills.

Despite the party action going on, this here toddler is in the throws of potty training.  Have snacks and will travel.

A huge, huge thank you to all my friends for an amazing egg hunt adventure.  See you on the flip side!
